The author focuses on the oldest recordings of Czech attributive place-names. A great deal of attention is devoted to the forms of both substantive and adjective parts of the individual toponyms. Also the formation and declination of the names in the context of the appropriate stage of development of the Czech language are analysed in detail in the paper. Also the development of the place-names is followed; especially the decline of the prepositional cases and a tendency towards one-word names have been observed. The analysis of the records of Czech names in a Latin context has also show that some names had been often translated into Latin.
