Attempts to use folk tradition in puppet theatre, which has always been a source of inspiration to it, evolved in Slovakia in stages and the process covered several decades. The authoress characterizes these attempts and focuses on the production of Kosice Puppet Theatre, where Adam Badin produced the play 'Kosicky Betlehem' (Kosice Bethlehem) in 2007, thus bringing to a close a trilogy inspired by folklore ('Bracek Jelencek' - Stag, the Brother, 2003, 'Zlate pierko' - The Golden Feather, 2005).
