The recourse to the Egyptian past is a characteristic feature for the whole of the Late Period. During the 25th Dynasty it is connected to some extent with the Kushite rulers of Egypt. The texts of this period are the source of archaisms, but their relation to the rest of the Egyptian culture has not been sufficiently described. This article presents some of the perspectives for the comparative study of the whole of the material with an emphasis on the linguistic developments, presence of religious and administrative documentation and lack of the literary works.
