The authoresses of his paper describe temporary workers schemes in Western Europe and US since 1945 till today. They also analyse migration policies of the regions in question in the context of labour migration. This paper should serve as an document for all those who are in charge of migration law. It should especially serve as an background paper for those policy makers in CEE region, who while creating the law would like to avoid mistakes and, learn lessons form countries with much longer than Poland immigration history.
