Stawisko - the residence of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, is a special place in twentieth-century Polish culture. The author discusses in detail its history, the associated literary and milieu myth as well as the essence of the Stawisko topos and, more widely, the 'home' in the works of Iwaszkiewicz.
