In the Gniezno cathedral there is a metal font from 1448 with six coloured coats-of-arms of Polish knightly families. They are arranged in two groups of three arms. In spite of considerable damages of the polychromy they can be identified, though partly hypothetically only. There are the following arms on the font: Roch (?) Zareba Jelita, Odrowaz lub Ogon (?) Jastrzebiec Kopacz. The order of 'reading' the arms is: 2, 1, 3 and 5, 4, 6. The Zaremba arms belonged to the founder of the font, Jan of Brzostków, a canon of Gniezno. Those on its sides (2, 3) may have belonged to persons from his family. The other group of arms (4, 5, 6) should be connected with members of the Gniezno chapter.
