The analysis of the competitiveness factors in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) countries done in this paper conduces to work out proinnovation strategy for Poland. The theoretical, logical, empirical and special prepared software programme were applied. Interdisciplinary analysis based on the Porter's 'diament' (competitiveness structures) includes the following four groups of hard and soft factors: - Economic Performance; - Government Efficiency; - Business Efficiency; - Infrastructure, and is enriched with SWOT analysis prepared for the Polish economy. The conclusions pointed out that the Finnish TRIPLEX ( innovations - education system - infrastructure), the result of 20 years' experiences is the most effective and could be adopted in Poland.
