The article belongs to a cycle of works dedicated to reconstruction of the lexicon of extinct Slavic dialects of Western Pomerania (Germ. Hinterpommern). Another article from this series appeared in 'Onomastica' vol. 48. In the current text the authoress presents terrain names from appellative names of trees: 1) olsza, olszyna, olszka 'Alnus' and 2) osa, oska 'Populus tremula'. An important part of the article are two small maps showing the frequency of terrain names from the area of Western Pomerania cited in the text. Characteristic is the larger number of these names in the eastern part, which was Germanized later (18th-20th centuries) and the small number of them in the western part, Germanized the earliest (in the 15th-16th centuries).
