The author attempts at presenting the taxonomy of 'testimony of the Holocaust' genre of historic writing. Purposeful distortion of identification is a characteristic discerning testimony from any other literary texts. Identification is impossible for epistemological reasons as well as because of no shared experience present between the story-telling survivor and his/her readers. However, a testimony is not reduced to a historic text; instead, it does preserve a uniqueness and specificity as a genre.
