The 2010 World Expo in Shanghai - P.R. of China was open from 30 April to 31 October 2010. It attracted 246 subjects: 189 states and 57 corporations, presenting the highest results in industry, science, culture, environment and others. With the main slogan: 'Better City - Better Life' as the theme, the Expo was a pageant in which the world could come together to learn about the future of urban life. It also offered a platform for thoughtful dialogue about the progress of mankind. The Expo showed the progress in science and technology. About 1100 scientific and technological achievements with independent intellectual property rights were widely used. There were 73 mln visitors: 70 mln Chinese and 3 mln foreigners. The 2010 World Expo in Shanghai proved not only high organizational talent of hosts, but also great achievements of Chinese socialist market economy as a new alternative socio-economic development of mankind.
