In 1961 François Arnal made 'informel' drawings hoping Raymond Queneau would add texts to them. He indeed adds a story entitled 'The Story of a Book'. The writer's words explain the lines, colors, shapes and double meanings in the drawings or they even create the meanings and make them deeper. The book is an interesting example of the author's poetics. The typical of him search for structures, which tame the chaos of inspiration is exposed here, as well as their uncertain effectiveness. This work also echoes the vivid 20th century theoretical literary discussions of the sixties.
