The village of Nová Lhota is situated by the Moravian- Hungarian border. It was established as late as in the Modern Era. However, there were various opinions regarding the accurate time of foundation of the village. This paper analyzed the oldest documents and attempted to determine an approximate date of the establishment of this settlement. The archives were compared to other documents created prevailingly in the office of Strážnice manorial lords at the time when the dominion was administered by the Žerotíns.
