Benchmarking is one of ther most frequently applied methods of organization improvement. Its aim is catching up with the best or even outperforming them. However, benchmarking should not replace other concepts undertaken in order to improve organization performance, but rather play a role of a supplementary method. One of the most significant threats connected with benchmarking application is the fact that this method in likely to dominate other important enterprise tasks.
