The present article analyses the declension, specifically tendencies towards nondeclension of foreign personal names (masculines). These tendencies are influenced by the following factors: compatibility of form of a name with the Slovak declension system, naturalness of formal ending of a name, its structural type (i. e. the number of components), adherence to an anthroponomical class: type of a name – first name or family name), number of syllables and some other circumstances.
