The article is trying to document a process of the social and cultural adaptability of Slovak colonists to the new living conditions at Dolna zem. The process contributed to a fact that mainly Slovak material culture lost its previous role of the ethnic community's identification cultural symbol. The result of the cultural dialogue between Slovaks, majoritarian community at Dolna zem and other ethnic minorities was reflected at the conjoint material culture.Their cultural competencies, aquired at the native cultural environment in Slovakia, were effectively implemented to the multiethnic and multicultural environment at Dolna zem.
