The article discusses the development of scientific press in Cracow in the years 1945-2000. Over the discussed period of time the number of those periodicals had increased from 30 to 524 (in 1998). Particular emphasis is made on the period 1989-2000, in which as many as 13% of all Polish scientific periodicals were published in Cracow.
