Information and communication technology (ICT) application in medicine and health care causes many practical ethical problems. The article shows that medical informatics ethics (MIE) is not a new field of applied ethics. Instead, it is a name for certain problems which are both medical ethics (ME) problems and computer ethics (CE) problems. Some issues of application of ICT in medicine belong to CE and others belong to ME. In MIE, medical ethics meets computer ethics. The boundary between them is neither clear nor easy to demarcate.
