The six independent studies, presented by the author, aimed at checking whether meta-rules, isolated with the aid of factor analysis and interpreted as styles of solving problems, are invariant. The following styles turned out to be stable: Active approach to Problems, Transgression, Rationalism, Objectivism, Intuition, Flexibility, Conservatism, and Concentration on Problems. It was suggested that the above styles of solving problems could be interpreted as higher-order mental components of solving ill-defined problems.
