This paper examines the use of drones in contemporary film from a philosophical and interdisciplinary perspective. What is crucial from philosophy is Ernst Cassirer’s concept of man, on which the main thesis of this paper is based: humans adapt to changes in their external and internal environments just like any other organism, having at the same time an ability to create adaptations. This study aims to develop this philosophical thesis as an interdisciplinary topic by verifying it in the current situation in filmmaking and the use of drones in film. The author explores how film adapts to cultural and natural changes and points out adaptations of nature that humans create in films. The first hypothesis is that changes in the field of culture always reflect changes in nature and vice versa; the second hypothesis is that the proposed notion of “adaptations of nature” denotes the possibility of humans to overcome the dichotomy between nature and culture if they take responsibility over their creations.
