Louis Kentner, a native of Karvina, performed in many countries after completing his studies in Budapest. He had his first tour when he was only fifteen years old. After that, he toured one country after another with his piano art. In March 1932 he participated in the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, where he ended in a 5th place. Right before the Second World War he emigrated to Great Britain, which then became his second home. All his life he was active as a performer, composer, educator of new musical talents and a juror at piano competitions. He did many great recordings with various record companies. These recordings have been part of a valuable cultural heritage ever since.
