The leitmotif of the article is the issue of education in European values with an emphasis on the current processes of migration and immigration, especially from the environment of Islamic culture and civilization. The author defines European values (freedom, equality before the law, gender equality, justice, tolerance, human dignity, etc.) as an integral part of the European cultural tradition, which is derived from ancient Greek education, Roman law and the Judeo-Christian religion. In the spirit of the reformulated concept of axiological pluralism, he divides the values contained in philosophy, ethics, law, politics, art and religion into commensurable and incommensurable. The starting points and limits of education in European values - with an emphasis on the civic integration of Muslim immigrants - are exemplified by comparing the moral, legal and political norms of Christian and Islamic cultural and historical provenance. In conclusion, it is emphasized that both education in European values and the civic integration of Muslim immigrants must respect both the UN Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (1948) and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (2016), because these documents are not only the current criteria for education in European values, but also represent a conditio sine qua non for any real integration of Muslim immigrants in the territory of the EU.
