The article presents and assesses the question often considered in contemporary debates: whether the creation of artificial organisms in the form of robots operating with artificial intelligence would open up the possibility of creating conscious life. The point of view of a respected contemporary thinker and psychiatric physician, T. Fuchs, is analyzed. The German scientist, in critical discussion with those contemporary researchers (especially in cybernetics and biology) attempting to demonstrate such a possibility, challenges the validity of their position. Feedback and the recursivity of the system - according to them, these are the principles of consciousness. However, this is a philosophically untenable argument. Fuchs also demonstrates, on the basis of Aristotle's philosophy, that these thinkers lack the correct understanding of the nature of life. Contrary to what they preach, life cannot be created, because life by its very nature organizes itself. What they claim about the material components of corporeality is unacceptable/unthinkable also from a biological point of view. The thesis of these scientists-naturalists about artificial life is wrong.
