Although the analysis of such a term as heart is tantamount to approaching a complex world with multiple perspectives, the present study aims to investigate the set phrases featuring this lexeme, by using tools of language sciences. Thus, the following pages examine the somatic term heart, merging two perspectives, the semantic and the morphosyntactic, and demonstrating that the surface structure can become a pathway to the deep structure. At the same time, the study is comparatively-based, since the phraseological field of the lexeme heart is analyzed in several Romance languages: Romanian, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, highlighting both common patterns and contrasting features of these languages.
