This elaboration is an attempt to discuss the idea of clustering and cluster activities. There has been a rapid increase of the number of clusters in Poland, in recent years. The main role of clusters is development of their members through co-operation and competition, knowledge transfer, internationalization of participants and implementation of innovative solutions. Strengthening the market position is possible by organizing in form of strong entities with an international reach, which is possible, inter alia, through belonging to the cluster. The article also describes the situation of clusters in the agri-food sector, with particular emphasis on the two leading actors of the Wielkopolska region. Food Cluster „LeszczyńskieSmaki” („Leszno Flavors”) and „Food Cluster of SouthernWielkopolska” are good examples of how to develop, build strong brand, thanks to the activities within the cluster.
