The paper provides an analysis of telecommunication infrastructure development during the period of political transition in Poland. Legal, regulatory and technological aspects are covered. The author also mentions the electronic media and the role of IT systems in the context of telecommunication services. Special attention is given to development of the broadband infrastructure, particularly high‑speed internet and broadband connection.
