The book consists of six chapters. The first contains an overview of the economic situation in Polish farmers in 1989 - 1995, this means in the course of transformation period. This situation worsened in 1990-92 and has been improving since 1993. The second chapter is devoted to the main plant markets of cereals, potatoes, sugar, fruits and vegetables and also of rape. The information given on sawn acreage, yields, output, prioces, prouctive utilization, consumption, export and import and so on. Chapter third informs on the situation in the animal production. Therefore is also given on the number of heads of pigs, cattle, sheep and chicken, on output, marketable production, proces for farmers and retail prices, as well as foreign trade turnover, the consumption of meat, milk, eggs and their products and so on. During the transformation period the purchases of means of production and services by the farmers diminished very much. This process is described in chapter four. The chapter five is devoted to the foreign trade of raw agricultural products and food. The foreign agricultural trade has been rather limited and in the last years the balance was negative,. As it is known, Poland intends to participate with the European Union and therefore some preparations have to be done in order to reach this goal. The subject of agricultural police is therefore discussed in the last chapter six.
