At the end of the 16th century, the last female member of the Premonstratensian monastery in Nová Říše Anna Černická became involved in a sharp dispute with the newly appointed prior Šebestián Chotěbořský. Although it primarily concerned the method of the prior’s appointment and his competences, the distinct perception of monastic principles played and important role. Thus the two different types of monastic members faced each other, affected by the milieu and the period in which they originated.
