The article concentrates on Bulat Okudzhava’s poems translated by Vitold Dombrovsky and outlines lexical and stylistic differences between phrases of original text and its translations. The author of this article concentrates on music, sentence structure and rhyme shown in Okudzhava’s poetry and then compares them with their Polish versions. The author investigates also how patterns and processes of lexical changes determine and affect modification of poetic images and metaphors, which can lead to false understanding of the poems by their recipients.
