The present article investigates the evolution and current legal framework of the EU regulations in the area of supplementary old-age pension schemes with a focus on the occupational old-age pension systems. On the one hand, the impact of the changes occuring in the national legislations of the EU Member States on those regulations is examined, on the other hand, conversely, the modifications made in national law with a view of implementing the EU regulations is discussed. This implementation, in fact, poses a number of difficulties. Some of them are subject to European Court of Justice case-law.
