Azjatyckiego Banku Inwestycji Infrastrukturalnych. W opracowaniu domi-nuje analiza opisowa.

The purpose of this paper is to present the measures taken by China for in-ternationalization of its currency. All these measures have become an inherent part of the strategy of gradual liberalization of capital account. Undoubtedly, the IMF decision of juan inclusion in the SDR basket in November 2016 (as one of five most-used currencies in the world) was crucial. As a result, IMF releases data on the currency composition of official foreign exchange reserves (COFER), separately identifying holdings in juan for the first time. China is involved in undertakings oriented to promote juan directly by facilitating cross-border settlement of transactions in juan, appointing clearing banks and having bilateral swap agreements with foreign central banks. On the other hand, to sup-port the process of juan internationalization indirectly, One Belt, One Road initiative and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank were launched.
