In the article, the author presents an introduction to a wide issue of cultural tourism in post-industrial facilities. Apart from the industrial heritage definition, we can also find a definition of the phenomenon of cultural tourism in post-industrial facilities, a short description of the industry history and the forms of the historical buildings’ protection in the world and in Poland. In the last part, the author presents a model of a tourist interested in the post-industrial facilities tourism as well as the list of requirements to be fulfilled, especially in Poland, to allow this sector of tourism to expand.
