Mimo szerokiego zainteresowania potencjalnymi korzyściami z cloud computingu, jego oddziaływanie na przedsiębiorstwa, w szczególności w zakresie innowacji, a nie tylko oszczędności, wydaje się słabsze niż wynikałoby to z powszechnej opinii i oczekiwań firm. Innowacje nie muszą bowiem być bezpośrednią konsekwencją przyjęcia cloud computingu. W artykule zostaną określone cechy cloud computingu ułatwiające implementację oraz wykorzystanie chmury obliczeniowej do celów innowacyjnych, jak też problemy związane z wdrożeniem, które często wynikają z samej natury technologicznej cloud computingu. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie czynników decydujących o wyborze oraz priorytetowych działaniach w kontekście wspierania adopcji modeli chmurowych dla zwiększania innowacyjności i kreowania wartości.

Despite the widespread interest in the potential benefits of cloud computing, cloud computing impact on businesses, particularly in terms of innovation rather than cost savings, seems to be slower than it is in the common opinion. Innovations do not have to be a direct consequence of the adoption of cloud computing. The article determines the characteristics of cloud computing to facilitate the implementation and use of the cloud for innovation, as well as the issues related to the implementation process, which often follow from the very nature of cloud computing technology. The article indicates a number of important factors worthy of consideration by the organizations deciding on cloud computing and the steps that should be taken to accelerate/ facilitate and maximize the benefits of cloud computing. The aim of this article is to answer the question, what can drive and inhibit the adoption/choice of cloud computing, in particular for its use for innovative practices and value creating.
