The article presents the results of the research concerning the expectations of pupils in the last grades of primary and secondary school form all over Poland concerning the directions of development and future possibilities of using computers. The surveyed pupils (671 people) have expressed their ideas by answering a set of open questions. In additions, a group of them has illustrated their ideas in a form of a drawing. The obtained results point to a great divergence of expectations – from increasing technical possibilities and users’ convenience, through using computer for daily tasks, to establishing ‘personal’ contact with a computer or the possibility to travel in time and space. The research findings indicate also that among the factors supporting constructive directions of future ICT changes is comprehensive teenagres’ education in the range of ICT, as well as developing their awareness of social, economic or ecological problems and their civil attitudes.
