The majority of ethnic Macedonians constructed in 90's Republic of Macedonia as a nation-state of Macedonian people. Numerous minority of ethnic Albanians settled in the country demanded their rights to be sufficiently respected. Reactive nationalism of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia resulted in the conflict between Macedonian security forces and armed Albanian rebels in 2001. Consequently, Ohrid Framework agreement was signed to end up conflict and to implement far-reaching reforms. The main goal of the text is to analyze, firstly, the causes which led to the conflict. Therefore, the nation-state building process of Macedonians in the 90's and reactive nationalism of Albanians will be revealed. Secondly, the conflict in 2001 and Ohrid Framework Agreement would be reflected. And finally, the postconflict reconstruction and implementation of the Ohrid Framework agreement would be analyzed. In all the three parts of the text, the attention would be paid to interethnic cooperation among political parties, governmental coalitions and relations between government and opposition.
