The study, following two previous stages of research, is a probe into the (re)interpretation of poetry written by a Slovak poetess – classified by literary history as an interwar period writer – Maša Haľamová (1908 – 1995). The attention is paid here to her third collection of poems titled Smrť tvoju žijem / I Live Your Death (1966), published thirty years after the previous collection titled Červený mak / The Red Poppy (1932). The goal of the research, defined in two lines, tracks the presence and performance of the spiritual dimension, and reveals the relation between the meaning and the means of expression in the verse rhythm structure. The methodological basis is provided by interdisciplinary and hierarchical terminology, which makes it possible to research how and to what extent spirituality is developed in an epic or a lyric piece of writing. The core of the study consists of the following parts: Personal memories, Literary critics on M. Haľamová´s work (the contemporary press), which are the results of archive research, and Smrť tvoju žijem, which is focused on methodologically driven analysis and interpretation of selected poems from both parts of the collection: September, Bez teba / September, Without You. The results of the (re)interpretation of spirituality and verse analysis prove the artistically impressive spiritual message of the third collection.
