An important role was played by the former labour camp for Jews in Sereď, which was one of the main elements of the system of forced labour for Jews in Slovakia between 1941 and 1945. Shortly after the beginning of the German occupation of Slovakia, the Sereď labour camp was transformed into a concentration camp under the supervision of the SS. The paper focuses on the analysis of the so-called registration diaries of the concentration camp in Sereď, which capture the basic data of the prisoners registered in the camp in the period from 19 November 1944 to the end of March 1945. The subject of the study is the analysis of the Sereď camp prisoners’ data in the final stage of its existence using data analysis tools (Python libraries) and a geographic information system (QGIS). The main research questions that this study seeks to answer and visualize are: How large was the area from which persons detained in the second wave of deportations of Jews from Slovakia were brought to the camp in Sereď? What is the relationship between this territory and the nature (functional affiliation) of the units that carried out the deportations to the Sereď camp, and what are the basic characteristics of the prisoners of the Sereď camp during this period? The results of data processing and analysis are confronted with available published literature and other archival sources. The study is thus the result of the application of digital humanities methods, which integrate software tools and techniques with traditional humanities disciplines.
