In her article the author poses the question of how to include the Old-Czech hagiographic works in the traditional rhetorical genres. It is true that in literary genealogy the legend belongs to the Medieval prose writing, but it has not yet been discussed within the frames of rhetorical style. Also, in the Medieval rhetorical texts there are some mentions about Medieval hagiography. In this case, the recognition of the specific language of the legend as a rhetorical style may be assumed as the starting point for the description of the whole Old-Czech literature. Hence, the author of the article presents the condition of the Medieval legend of the second half of the 14th century, with particular emphasis put on two works: Život svatej Kateriny and Passionál.
