The great war with the Teutonic Order took place in the years 1409 - 1411, but the turning point was a battle on 15 July 1410, which took place on the fields of Grunwald. At that battle to protect the people of King Vladislav II Jagiello isolated small squad picked guard, which, as indicated by the messages of John Dlugosz, passed the test in conditions of armed conflict and attempts to make a direct attack on the king's life.
