Districts, being the lowest, basic levels of local government, are to a great extend interested in the promotion of tourism and physical recreation. These fields of activity are treated as a chance to develop the districts. In order to cooperate, districts can form various organizations. The most formalized way of cooperation are districts associations. The associations are formed I order to achieve different goals. The topic of the article are these associations, which are basically formed to develop tourism. The article lists the associations, shows their formal basis and presents courses of action in particular associations.
