The article focuses on the social involvement of three biggest religious communities (Roman Catholic Church, Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren and Czechoslovak Church) among working-class in the Czech Lands. It analyzes construction of expert community, international contacts, and inspirations in the field of social question. As well as churches’ social policy presented in journals and newspapers and its real capacity to attract the working-class environment. The paper opens also the question of interactions and mutual influences between social and church history.
