The aim of this study is to use research in archives for a detailed description of the activities of one of the most important Russian historians of the first half of the 20th century, an excellent speaker, stylist and expert on Russian history of the 18th and 19th centuries, in interwar Czechoslovakia. The first part describes Kizevetter's life. The second part focuses on Kizevetter's work. Besides Milyukovov, Kizevetter is described as the second most famous representative of the Klyuchevski School, as a personality who created numerous monographs (mainly based on archive resources) during his life. During his stay in Prague, Kizevetter did not write any spectacular monographs he 'only' further developed, modified and amended the results of his previous research in Moscow or the findings of other researchers. Nevertheless, the importance of Kizevetter's stay in Prague lies in his organizational, pedagogical, cultural and educational activities, which consumed much of his time and energy (the aforementioned archive material clearly documents this fact). These activities of his were unselfish and always for the benefit of the entire Russian emigration.
