The article discusses the inventory of manuscript and archival sources on the Polish press history (1661-1939) designed and commenced by Professor Marian Tyrowicz. It cites the document 'A plan for the inventory of inventory of manuscript and archival sources on the Polish press history (1661–1939)' which was approved for implementation in 1974 by the Press Study Committee of the Kraków Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences and incorporated in the 1974 financial plan by the Presidium of the Kraków Branch in a letter of 30 January 1974.
