The article examines the complexity of labor disputes within the public administration in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, emphasizing the importance of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, especially mediation. In the article, the authors reflect on the current state of use of individual labor disputes and collective labor disputes, especially with the use of mediation. By analyzing the resolution of labor disputes in court, as well as out-of-court, the study underlines the importance of mediation as a consensual and effective approach to resolving conflicts in the workplace, supporting the restoration of professional relationships and reducing the number of lawsuits. The authors also provide comparative insights, including best practices from other European Union countries, with the aim of promoting a wider adoption of mediation in labor disputes in public administration.
