Artykuł omawia twórczość literacką Władysława Bogusławskiego (1838–1909), wybitnego krytyka (teoretyka) teatru i zasłużonego krytyka literackiego. Był on też autorem tekstów prozatorskich, powstałych głównie w latach osiemdziesiątych XIX wieku. Najciekawsze z nich, sześć opowiadań i nowel oraz jeden obrazek dramatyczny, reprezentują dyskurs kobiecy (feministyczny), ukazując relacje płci wnikliwie i niestereotypowo: w kontekście psychologiczno-obyczajowym, społecznym, antropologicznym, historyczno-kulturowym i filozoficznym, a także w ambiwalentnym ujęciu pro- i antyemancypacyjnym. Równie interesujące i cenne dokumentarnie są dwie autobiograficzne reminiscencje, odwołujące się do pobytu pisarza na zesłaniu na Syberii. Wreszcie dwa drobiazgi nowelistyczne to parabole o przesłaniu filozoficzno-etycznym. Zróżnicowaną tematycznie i formalnie prozę pisarza cechują niebanalne rozwiązania kompozycyjne oraz erudycja estetyczna (m.in. nawiązania do muzyki i malarstwa).

The paper describes the literary creativity of Władysław Bogusławski (1838–1909), an distinguished theatre critic (theorist) and a deserving literary critic. Bogusławski was the author of prose pieces produced mainly in 1880s. The most interesting of them—six tales and short stories as well as one dramatic sketch—represent female (feminist) discourse, showing sex relations penetratingly and nonstereotypically: in a psychological-customary, social, anthropological, history-cultural and philosophical context, as well as from the ambivalent pro- and antiemancipatory stance. Equally interesting and valuable are two autobiographical reminiscences referring to the writer’s stay in exile in Siberia. Finally, there are two minor tales—parables with a philosophical and ethical message. Bogusławski’s thematically and formally diversified prose is characterised by original compositional solutions and aesthetic erudition (e.g. references to music and painting).
