The contemporary processes of internationalisation of many spheres of human activity, also in the aspect of consumption, determine the emergence of mutual interactions between countries, regions and individual enterprises. An aim of the article is to assess the impact of internationalisation of the agri-food sector on consumer behaviour in the market for foods in Poland. The review and research nature of the article determined the selection of the following research methods: an analysis of literature and the statistical analysis of the available secondary data, particularly dynamics indices in time series. In result of research, the authors indicated that in the period in question the ratio of imports to the sold production of food industry’s products in Poland grew four times, while the cumulated foreign direct investments in the sector grew three times and reached at the end of the period in question the level of 43 billion zlotys. The growing connections of the Polish food market with the international environment, particularly with the EU market, cause that in the situation of possible disintegration of the EU economy and the strengthening economic patriotism one may expect changes on behaviours of market entities, especially manufacturers. The evolving consumer needs will be stimulating enterprises’ strategies, also foreign investors present in the Polish market.
