Artykuł dotyczy rozważań z perspektywy kognitywistycznej na temat powstawania religijności w umysłowości ludzkiej. Opisany został głównie aspekt ewolucyjny powstawania treści religijnych. W pierwszej części pracy przedstawione zostały dowody wskazujące na uniwersalność religii z perspektywy czasowej (znaleziska paleontologiczne, archeologiczne i antropologiczne). Następnie przedstawionych zostało kilka argumentów kognitywistów na potwierdzenie teorii, według której jest to rodzaj spandrelu. Wskazano własności rozwojowe i poznawcze ludzkiego umysłu, predysponujące do powstania w nim religijności.

Current study considers topic of religiosity appearance in human mind from cognitive perspective. Mainly an evolutionary aspect of religion contents was described. In the first part of the article evidence confirming religion versatility from time perspective were presented (paleontological, archaeological and anthropological findings). Furthermore few arguments of cognitive scientists were cited to confirm a theory, according to which it is sort of spandrel. It was showed developmental and cognitive feature of human mind predisposing to the emergence of the religion.
