The programs of social - economic development for the years 2007 - 2013 assume the realization of the sustainable development. The realization of this conception is based on the growth of effective demand on goods and services, including internal demand and that is rely on the increase of the hired employees, including the growth of the minimal salaries.Taking into consideration of this assumption, the article presents the results of the research concerning the level of salaries in Poland and the UE countries. It is justified that the low salaries of the hired employees in Poland, including the low minimal salaries could not be justified in the level efficiency and costs labour.
