The article consists of information concerning teaching standards and requirements for teachers (mainly teachers of the Polish language), who want to be delegated to work in Eastern Europe. It presents the set of professional competences the teachers should have when working in educational institutions and Polish organizations abroad, especially in Ukraine. The article includes the activities of Polish Ministry of National Education and main priorities of the Polish Government for Poles who live abroad. It presents legal basis of how teachers are delegated to Polonia environments in Eastern Europe and the range of influence of Ośrodek Rozwoju Polskiej Edukacji za Granicą (ORPEG), in the past called Centralny Ośrodek Doskonalenia Nauczycieli (CODN).
