W artykule przedstawiono aktywność Ligi Kobiet i następnie Ligi Kobiet Polskich prezentowanej na łamach „Zwierciadła”, popularnego czasopisma kobiecego wydawanego w okresie PRL. „Kobieta i Życie”.

The article deals with the activities of the League of Women, later renamed the League of Polish Women, as presented in the weekly Zwierciadło [Mirror], an up-market women’s magazine launched in 1957, in the aftermath of the October 1956 ‘Thaw’. The analysis covers the period of 1957–1961 and 1982–1989 when the magazine was published by the League. Its role was to present in a more attractive form the work of the League and to serve as a light-handed propaganda outlet of the communist government. Zwierciadło was addressed mainly to educated women and never reached the popularity of the traditional mass-market Kobieta i Życie [Woman and Life].
