Autor podejmuje rozważania nad pojęciem i znaczeniem humanizmu. Nawiązując do wybranych koncepcji wskazuje na zmieniające się znaczenia tego pojęcia w kulturze europejskiej. Odwołując się do antropocentryzmu poszukuje odpowiedzi na pytanie kim jest człowiek i czym jest jego człowieczeństwo pozostające u podstaw idei humanizmu. Podkreśla, iż spełnianie się człowieka w jego człowieczeństwie winno być podstawą każdego projektu humanizmu, którego realizacja jest drogą trwania ludzkości w przyszłości.

The author takes deliberations on the notion and meaning of humanism. Referring to the chosen concept he indicates the changing meaning of this notion in the European culture. Referring to anthropocentrism, looking for answers to the question who is the human being and what is his humanity which remain at the basis of the idea of humanism, the author emphasizes that the fulfillment of human being in his humanity should be the basis for each project of humanism, whose implementation is the way of the duration of mankind in the future.
